Invoice and payment
Ask for the invoice currency, the receiving bank details and who bears intermediary-bank charges before you transfer; all three are confirmed in writing on the proforma invoice.
Version, SIM and lock notes
Do not use the personal Special Approval and Clearance Letter route as evidence for a commercial wholesale lot.
Commercial route needs confirmation
SIRIM QAS explains that communications equipment is subject to product certification under MCMC requirements. Its commercial certification requirements tie the Certificate of Approval to the importer, shipment, equipment and approval records.
The public material reviewed does not establish whether commercial used iPhones qualify. The Malaysian importer should obtain confirmation from SIRIM QAS and Royal Malaysian Customs for the exact condition, models and quantity before shipment.
Do not rely on the personal clearance FAQ
SIRIM’s June 2020 FAQ covers Special Approval and Clearance Letters for personal applications under an individual’s name. Its restriction on used or refurbished communications equipment applies to that personal route; it does not by itself prove a commercial prohibition or permission.
Lot information for verification
- Give SIRIM QAS or the importer the exact model, regional variant, condition and quantity.
- State the part number, SIM configuration, network lock and IMEI status per unit.
- Check the proposed variants in the model-code guide before authorizing sourcing.
Payment and buyer responsibility
BiteLot accepts bank transfer only. Request a dated quote with current availability, invoice currency and fees, and review how to order. The grading standard and inspection process support lot review; commercial-route eligibility and clearance remain the buyer’s responsibility under the terms.
Rules and agency procedures can change. Confirm the current process with the named authorities and a qualified importer or customs broker in Malaysia before ordering. Carrier activation at the destination and door-to-door transit time are outside BiteLot's control: confirm both with your destination carrier and your freight forwarder. Importing remains the buyer's responsibility under the terms.
